Dr. Ben Franklin
as portrayed by Rob Carroll

Rob brings his first person characters to life by drawing on his two diverse, but in this case complimentary backgrounds. Having first performed on stage at the age of 5, Rob brings over 35 years of experience as a professional musician and actor to his historic portrayals. Second would be his lifelong passion for and the study of American History, in particular Dr. Benjamin Franklin.

Rob has worked for the past ten years as a historic tour guide for American Heritage Tours,
specializing in:
Philadelphia, Valley Forge, the Brandywine Valley, Washington's Crossing, Trenton, and Princeton.
In 2003 Rob joined the staff at Freedom's Foundation (Valley Forge, PA), as an instructor for their "Revolution in the Middle Atlantic States" graduate course.

He has become a very familiar face in Phila area schools through his unique
"Bringing History to Life" programs.

He has recently been the subject of articles in Main Line Today, (click on "main line today" for the article or just click here to read the interview), the Phila. Inquirer, and US Airways "In Flight" magazine concerning his activities as Dr Franklin, and has appeared on ABC's Good Morning America portraying Dr. Franklin.
